The plan... First, we run. Then, we brunch.
10:00 - Meet @ Clapham Common Tube Station
10:15 - Start running
10:45 - Stop running - Meet @ Clapham Common Bandstand
11:00 - Breakfast & Socialising @ The Breakfast Club, Battersea Rise
From 10:00, we will meet outside Clapham Common Tube Station. At 10:15, we will set off around the common in a clockwise fashion and aim to do 2 laps around the common. If you get tired out or feel like doing 1/1.5 laps and joining us back at the bandstand - no problem! Take it at your own pace. The goal is to enjoy, not exert. Just make sure you're back at the bandstand for 10:45. At 11:00 (or when we've counted everyone is there), we will take a leisurely stroll 5 minutes to The Breakfast Club, which is on the west side of the common, near Clapham Junction.
If you don't feel like running, you're not an early bird, or simply feeling a wee bit fragile after Saturday night, just come for the breakfast and socialising from 11:00! I will have my phone juiced up and on standby throughout the morning, should you need to find us at any point.
Dress code: completely casual.
See you there!

1/ I'm not a great runner - can I still join?
Yes, absolutely. Come along, whatever your level. I recommend you're able to run for 15 mins without stopping. If you’re just starting out with running, or you want a really easy session, come and take a walk with us in the park instead.
2/ How far will I be running?
Between 1-2 laps of the common (depending on how far you would like to go). Choose however you feel comfortable with and feel free to take break/s in the middle if you need to.
3/ Do I need any special gear?
Not at all, all you need is a pair of trainers. You don’t need to splash out on any specialist gear, but if you’re planning on running it's worth getting a pair of running shoes as this will protect your feet much better than shoes, sandals or flip-flops. Apart from that, just dress for the weather and wear something you would feel comfortable running in. It may be sunny on the day but might be a bit chilly so do layer up if you need to.
This free group is for friendship and dating, designed to reach out to others and create mutual support. The concept is simple: helping one other get out there in the world. Some meet-ups will be limited to 10 places so it’s not too overwhelming for new members. Simplicity is key — by thorough advance checking of details, e.g., seating, cloakroom, dress code etc., we can properly manage expectations and minimise the risk of social pitfalls so do feel free to get in touch if you wish to have a chat about the event before you attend!
I'll bring a large sign so you can quickly find us on arrival and stickers will be provided on which to write your name. Being shy and introverted can mean you’re concentrating so hard on getting the interaction right, you often forget their name or forget to ask (I’m prone to that)!
I don’t charge fees for attending our meet-ups. All I ask is that a one-off discretionary donation is made for your first time. This is to help cover the cost of running the group. Meetup groups are not free to run and cost £130 over the course of a year. I've put a link below (Paypal) where you give a one-off donation of £5 (or any amount) to help out. The group will always remain free so there is no obligation but it would be greatly appreciated. The link works on both desktops and smartphones.
