Shine & Dine Out To Help Out - Last Chance @ The Coriander, Vauxhall

31/8/2020

Couldn't resist... ;-P

From 3 to 31 August, the government are offering a 50% discount when we eat in at restaurants that are registered with the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme.

This one is to redeem myself for the 1st Wednesday, which I missed, but also because Coriander was the last meet-up we did before lockdown so seems a fitting way to see August out in style!

Can't recommend this place enough!

ABOUT

A sensitive mix of flavours from Northern India and Bangladesh combine to offer a distinctive flavour for all palates. They always use fresh ingredients and local products wherever possible, and in their comprehensive menus. They have many of your traditional favourites.

Vegan option: Vegetable Jalfrezi is a good main to go for but it's spicy! You can ask for them to make it less spicy by using 1 chilli instead of 2, just speak to the waiter. They also do Sag Aloo, Dahl and plenty of other vegan options. The waiters/chefs are extremely helpful and flexible and will accommodate you.

Plenty of vegetarian options, too - I usually have the Paneer Korai, can't recommend it enough!

DETAILS

Please only RSVP if you're 100% sure of attending, as we can only accommodate 6 people... Don't forget to message me or change your RSVP to not attending, if you are not coming along, in order for those who can attend to be added to the list (I'll provide my phone number). Failure to do so could result in temporary removal from the group. Advance thanks for your understanding!

I don’t charge fees for attending our meet-ups. All I ask is that a one-off discretionary donation is made for your first time. This is to help cover the cost of running the group. Meetup groups are not free to run and cost £180 over the course of a year. I've put a link below (Paypal) where you give a one-off donation of £10 (or any amount) to help out. The group will always remain free so there is no obligation but it would be greatly appreciated. The link works on both desktops and smartphones.

    Shy Bi's & Gay Guys

I run the "Shy Bi's & Gay Guys" & "London Gay Socials" groups on Meet-up.

Shyness and social anxiety can hold guys back from forming meaningful platonic and romantic relationships. It can be tough enough ‘coming out’, but being introverted can make it even more of a challenge and sometimes you need a gentle push.

So, whether you consider yourself to be ‘gay’, ‘bi’, ‘bi-curious’, ‘pansexual’ or any other label; whether you are ‘in the closet’, ‘out’ or in the process of ‘coming out’; whether you are vulnerable or feel at risk, this group brings us together. We embrace those who have experienced depression, anxiety, loneliness or isolation, especially if you may be considered on the spectrums of ADHD, Autism & Asperger’s, Bipolar, OCD and/or Schizophrenia.

You may be a highly sensitive person who experiences intense highs and lows to an extreme degree. You may be an artistic Creative with a vivid inner world hidden and locked away. You may feel easily overwhelmed by large groups of people, unsettled by the turbulence of the LGBT dating scene or sidelined/neglected in a whirlwind of rapidly spinning social circles. Anxiety may have even prevented you from moving forwards in friendships and relationships with other people because you're afraid of either hurting or getting hurt. This Meetup group is designed for you!

Have you ever taken years to build up the confidence to go to an event only to be disappointed? Want to attend an LGBT event but held back by your shyness? Simply come as you are. There’s no need to pretend anymore. This is just a get together for people who don’t want to be on their own, to feel comfortable and foster a nice, friendly circle of people. And if you want to come but don’t feel like talking much, then that’s cool, too! Take it at your own pace.

Women are also very welcome! :-)
